Besoin d'anglophones

Voigtlander Bergheil
http://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/ht ... gheil.html

The Bergheil is an aluminium-built, leather-covered, plate camera manufactured from 1912 to 1936.
It was available in several formats : 4,5 x 6, 6,5 x 9, 9 x 12 et 10 x 15 cm.
The last models enjoyed an interchangeable optical group.
Whereas identification of this 9x12 cm camera is easy since the « Bergheil » name is embossed in leather on the ground glass back, determination of the version is tricky. On this particular model, the presence of :
a square U-shaped frame supporting the shift movements
intermediate V-shaped struts supporting the bellows
a fixed optical group comprising a Compur shutter up to 1/250 combined with an F6.3 Radiar lens
lead, thanks to the monography by Pierre Dalger 140 years of Voigtlander cameras, to classify this camera as a second version produced from 1920 to 1926.
The folding clear viewfinder with an attached bubble level was an option on this version.
The front door can be opened by depressing a button, hidden by the leather covering, located in the upper right side of the camera ; the lowering of the swinging door will automatically get the left-hand lateral viewfinder to deploy. Once the carriage has been manually put into position, focusing, which is controlled by the scroll wheels integrated to the swing door, is obtained by way of displacement of the rail carrying the front plate.
Controlled by small scroll wheels, the shift movements are easy and precise.
The Bergheil was rather upmarket among Voigtlander small plate cameras, with the Avis as second in command, followed by the Vag at the lower end.

Voigtlander VAG
http://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/ht ... r_VAG.html

Identified by its name embossed in the handle leather, this camera is a 9x12 cm Voigtlanger VAG.
The VAG was the lower end of the Voigtlander range of small plate cameras.
Equipped with a single-extension bellows, it had 6.5x9 and 9x12 cm variants.
The case of this particular example is made of wood with leather covering ; it neither has the lateral viewfinder with wire frame, nor the semi-circular focusing scale. The serial number, located close to the swing door hinge, is later than those of early models, but it does not have a first-digit letter ; this makes it a pre-1929 vintage.
The serial number of the Voigtar lens would make it a 1927 vintage. A 1928 model is displayed on this website and a number of differences can be seen.
The overall feeling is that the manufacturing quality is lower than a Bergheil’s, or even an Avus ; for instance the shift movements are obtained by way of sliding the front plate carrying the optical group, once a blocage screw has been loosened. No scroll-wheel fine-tuning here.

Remarque : « Modèle de 1928 » est un lien vers un autre modèle de Bergheil qui possède déjà une traduction anglaise. Il serait donc bon de recréer ce lien à partir de « A 1928 model » vers la page anglaise dont l’URL est :

The Revio KD-100 is an ultra-simple, fixed focal length camera. A digital zoom allows to double it.

Konica Minolta Dimage X21
http://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/ht ... 20X21.html

The Konica brand made a short appearance in the world of photography. The merger between Minolta and Konica took place in 2003, and the new brand gave up photography to focus on printing equipment. Dual-branded models are rather seldom.
This one is strongly influenced by Minolta’s past. While it benefits by its compact size, it unfortunately does not exhibit many other qualities… Its sensor is weak, and its lens not too good. It is capable of shooting videos… without sound. The most striking drawback is the absence of optical viewfinder. You must frame using a tiny screen of very low definition. A few gadgets are present, such as this round mirror located between the lens and flash which enables selfies, but this is by no means enough to bring this camera to a decent standard.

Medion Lifetec LT 41856
http://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/ht ... areil=8074

Medion (AG) is a German brand created in the 80s to manufacture and market electronic consumer goods. This brand was widely distributed by Aldi chainstores, which resulted in some confusion regarding a presumed ownership of the brand by Aldi. Starting from 2005, Medion embarked on distinct route from Aldi.
Since 2011, the brand has been owned by Chinese laptop manufacturer Lenovo.
This is a 2004 model as witnessed by the date of manufacture marked on a box. Its technical features are OK, but the quality is dependent upon the components used by the Chinese manufacturer.

Minolta Dimage S304
http://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/ht ... 0S304.html

The S304 has a rather bulky body with a thick right-hand, which gives it a good grasp. It sports a « champagne » colour.
On top an LCD screen displays the parameters selected through a series of small buttons ideally placed for one’s right hand thumb.

Minolta Dimage Xt
http://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/ht ... %20Xt.html

At the onset of the digital era, it would seem that, after some divagations, manufacturers took a shot of nostalgia by going back to the shapes of disc cameras.
Sony came up with its series of flattened CyberShot, as well as the company using the Polaroïd brand, and even some second tier brands such as Keystone.
The Dimage Xt was presented on the occasion of the 2003 PMA show. While released not too long after the Dimage Xi, with the same sensor resolution, the Xt appeared as an improvement thanks to a reduction in size and weight.
It retains a minimalist front face, with the lens in one corner, and the flash right in the middle.
One could not say that the design team demonstrated even a quantum dose of creativity.

Minolta Dimage Z1
http://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/ht ... %20Z1.html

Did I see something like this in the claws of Robbie the Robot, or in the cute hands of Barbarella* ?
However questionable in its result, the design of this model is interesting to some extent. It shows that the shape of to-day’s digital cameras is totally artificial, inspired by analog cameras, and in no way suits their actual functions.
This model consists in 2 parts : the handle on the one had, and the lens/shutter/viewfinder cluster on the other hand… not unlike certain high-end modular view cameras. The camera is actually smaller than it looks at first sight, as it fits the palm of one’s had. The handle is therefore really useful, since it is about impossible to hold the camera with one's left hand. The mix of black and grey is nicely designed, as is the placement of buttons on the back.
In the user’s manual (page 35), Minolta refers to one of its prototype-16mm cameras dating from the mid 60’s which was named Electro-Zoom X. The heritage is obvious.

*Tough luck, this is a picture of Robbie, not Jane Fonda…

Bonjour à tous, livraisons (5) du jour... :turlututu:

Nikon Coolpix 3100
https://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/h ... 03100.html

The Coolpix 2100 and 3100 are brothers, sharing advertising flyers, however they are no twins.
The 3100 is better equipped with 3.2 MPix, whereas the 2100 only sports 2 Mpix. The 2100 cannot record videos as long as the 3100, 15 versus 40 seconds. In general, the 2100 features are inferior. Power supply is by 2 Ni-MH batteries (EN-MH1).

Nikon Coolpix 5600
https://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/h ... 05600.html

The Coolpix 5600 is the 4600’s big brother. It is intended for beginners who only care to depress the shutter release. Its silhouette has got slimmer versus its predecessors and the shutter release more discrete.
The internal memory is 14 Mo. Interesting to note that this model does away with memory cards.

Nikon Coolpix 775
https://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/h ... 20775.html

The Coolpix 775 squeezes in timewise between the Coolpix 880 (one year earlier) and the Coolpix 885 (to be released one month later). It looks fairly similar overall, but the 775 has a sensor resolution lower than 3 Mpix, whereas the other two exceed this figure.
The 775 zoom is equivalent to the 885’s, but goes higher in focal length than the 880’s.

Nikon Coolpix 880
https://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/h ... 20880.html

This model belongs to a series of Coolpix whose design is quite compact albeit not necessarily handsome, with a hump protruding from most of the front face left part, and the lens far on the right. They are rather thick.
In this series are to be found the Coolpix 775, 885, and so on. Over time, the hump will thin out, and the lens will move towards the center, in the Coolpix L series.

Et voila... La suite au prochain numéro !

Nikon Coolpix 800
https://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/h ... 20800.html

The beginnings of Nikon in the field of digital point-and-shoot took place with 3 types of cameras, all of them named Coolpix. The first type is vertical and differentiates from existing cameras. It looks like Logitech’s FotoMan. Other brands came up with cameras of the same kind, but the public, as it seems, would not come onboard. The second type sports a vertically rotating half. The third type, to which we are confronted here, is more classical. Its design is average, and does not really look fine.
The viewfinder of the Coolpix 800 is accountable for a bump on top of its casing, where most controls are located, as well as an LCD screen. The shutter release is also… bulky. Contrary to a fairly good number of cameras, it is the flash which is in the center, and the lens on the side.

Bonsoir Sylvain,
Un grand merci ! En voici 4 de plus... j'espère ne pas épuiser trop vite tes stocks de pins !
Je poursuis les nouveautés 2019 à la petite semaine dans l'ordre où elles sont apparues.

Nikon Coolpix 950
https://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/h ... 20950.html

In 1998 the Coopix 900 inaugurates a series of digital cameras of very peculiar shape : lens and screen belong to 2 separate entities, swiveling up to 90 degrees versus each other around the long axis. They are sometimes called « swivel ».These models are the Coolpix 900, 900s, 910, 950, 990 and 995. The Coolpix 4500, S4, S10, will be the last offsprings of these series. These models were introduced on the market in the same order as their numbering. Versus the 910, the 950 has a same size sensor, but with a higher definition. It is upgraded from 1315 x 989 to 1589 x 1195 pixels, hence from 1.3 to 1.9 MPix.
The 950 has a 3x optical zoom supplemented by digital one, namely a 35mm equivalent zoom range of 38 to 115 mm. The 910 has the same zoom range.
The 950 shutter allows a fairly long maximum exposure of 8 seconds, versus 1/4 second max for the 910.
Even though the LCD screens on the back are of identical size on both models, the 950’s was upgraded from 114 000 to 130 000 pixels.
The 950 is equipped with a USB port. Wide- and tele-photo optical attachments can be installed.
2 variants of these models exist, with a black color of slightly different density. On one of them only, there is a red plastic inlay.

Nikon Coolpix L1
https://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/h ... %20L1.html

The L line, which appeared in 2005, covers lower end, low priced cameras intended for beginners. The L1 is the first model. It is quite simple, deprived of any but simple settings.
The picture quality is correct though. Strangely enough, one cannot change the JPEG image compression, but only its size.
It is not too bulky, but somewhat clumsy looking.

Nikon Coolpix L14
https://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/h ... 20L14.html

The first Coolpix only had a designation number ; with the exception of the SQ marketed in 2003, it was not until 2005 that they received a letter indicative of the product line. In 2005 Nikon did let go, launching the S, P, and L lines. Each letter goes with a product line : S for Style, P for Performance, and L for Life.
The S models have a very stylish design. They are very flat, with quite a minimalist front face. Lens and flash are in the upper right corner.
The P models have built-in wi-fi, and a sensor of better resolution than corresponding L models. They enjoy a vibration reduction (VR) system. Their optical zoom is shorter than on the L, but their digital zoom longer.
The L series targets beginners, whereas the P is intended for more advanced photographers. The S series are intended for esthetes.
As the different lines mature, some functions, such as VR, will migrate towards lower ranges. For instance the L14 is released to the market at the same time as the L15, without VR whereas the other one has it. The L14 is packed with features presumed to attract beginners, such as face detection, a fireworks mode, etc…

Nikon Coolpix L19
https://www.collection-appareils.fr/x/h ... areil=7687

The L19, like all L series models, is an entry level, low priced camera. It was worth less than €100 in 2009. At this price level, its features could not be best-in-class. Its 8 Mpix sensor does not match the competition. Its 6,7- 24 mm zoom, a 41-145 in 35 mm equivalence, is an ideal solution neither for travel nor for holidays photography.
There is no viewfinder. You have to get by with the 2.7 inches screen (about 230 000 pixels). It has a 20 Mo internal memory.
There is a choice of silver or pink colors.
Its L20 brother is a slightly better performer.
