[Royer] Teleroy rangefinder alignment

Message non lu par Eric Zhu »

Just got a Royer Teleroy. The camera is in excellent condition. But the seperated 2 images in the rangefinder is not properly aligned for the infinite subject. Is it easy to repair it by myself? Or shall I send it to a repairman?

I am in China, I doubt the repairman on my side sees Teleroy before.

Welcome Eric

Could you please present yourself to other members in a separate message.
This is the rule in this forum.
For any details please refer to :http://www.collection-appareils.fr/phpB ... 70&t=10373

You may find he description of the telemeter here :
http://www.collection-appareils.fr/roye ... eleroy.php

Even in French language, it is not so obvious as it goes into many technical details
But I think it could help.
Using translators as Babelfish from Altavista, you may understand most of it.
If any doubt or problem on a part of it, please e-mail me and I shall clarify the translation for you

Welcome Eric !

I would not advise for you to take apart this camera by yourself... but then again I do not know your camera repair skills!
Let's just say that this seems to me like a technically challenging repair, you might be better off sending it to a repairman.

While the Royer Teleroy and the Super Ikonta 530/2 are completely different cameras altogether, their rangefinder & focusing system seem to work in a very similar way. Same thing applies with the Krasnogorsk (KMZ) Moskva series.
So if you find a repairman who knows how to repair a Super Ikonta or a Moskva, I'm pretty confident he will be able to adjust or repair your Teleroy.

Nice find, by the way! I suppose Teleroy are scarcely seen in China! :D

Thanks for your reminding and now I have made introduction of myself on the instructed forum. I knows the description of teleroy, which lets me purchase this teleroy.

Thanks for your advice. Teleroy is not common in China, I would contact local repairman to fix the problem.

Thanks to the repairman's adjustment to the rangefinder, the camera is working now. Though it is a little tricky to use, the lens is awesome:

Sorry for the small picture, it would not reflect the details of flowers beauty in the curtain. The Som lens is amazing.

Hello Eric,
Many thanks for sharing these two beautiful trial shots with us
The lens is really sharp and the telemeter seems well adjusted.
We would appreciate if you could insert these two images in the page dedicated to the Teleroy
It is here:
http://www.collection-appareils.fr/roye ... eleroy.php
At the bottom of the page, a sample picture made with a Teleroy already exists and you may add yours through a simple click on "ajouter vos photos à la galerie" ( which means "add your own photos" in French)
If you do so, please indicate as a note which lens is fitting your camera
kind regards

Daniel

Thanks Daniel for your enjoy the photos. The Som Berthiot lens is really very sharp, especially aperture closed down after f11. The pictures are simply scanned by a second-hand cheap Canon scanner, without any photoshop effects. I am glad to add them to the Teleroy galery.
