Konica FT-1

Tranduction de Alphonse Khuu

Last reflex actually produced by Konica, the FT-1 represented the flaship of the brand.

Heir of the FS-1, there is the auto-winding system with electric motor for the film advance (but the rewind remains manual). It is rather surprising to take the camera in our hands in comparison with its competitors at the same time, and to see there is no wind lever. There is also its elongated shape, due to the presence of the "batteries-carrying." This last one looks like a body grip. The batteries are 4 AAAs and are, according to the manufacturer, assumed to "hold" at least 10 films of 36 shots. This motor allows the shooting burst at a rate of 2 frames per sec.

The batteries also provide power to the cell and the camera lets us work in automatic exposure (AE). In this mode, we set the shutter speed (up to 1/1000 sec), the aperture is applied accordingly and is stored in memory when we still keep to depress in halfway the shutter release.

The front of the camera includes an outlet for accessories and it accepts the lenses of the Hexanon range.

Be advised that there is a half-size variant, called Pro Half (frames of 18x24mm size with a 135 size film)
