Chronology of cameras Canon
Traduction de Sylvain Halgand
Datematic is a rangefinder camera with an incorporated dating system of pictures, i.e. that a date determined on the camera will be printed automatically on the negative. Admittedly, one is far from the current systems which include an electronic calendar and which deals with the actualization of the date, with taking into account of time zone etc… Here, the date must be updated at the hand, but for the time it was innovating. One cannot however prevent oneself from thinking that the autographic system of Kodak made it possible to obtain a similar result more early 60 years.
The setting of the date is done while turning three serrated rollers located under the lens, for the day, for the month and the other for the year. The result of the setting is visible above the lens, which makes it possible the operator to regulate that by having the camera around the neck. The date follows the American format.
The lens is one 40/2,8. The exposure is entirely controlled by a cell.
