__________

Etablissements Elola is a company whose activity is perplexing.

Brevet ElolaIn 1942, an advertisement in Le Matin extolled the virtues of shoe polish and wax available from Marc Elola (1899 - 1964) at 50 Rue de Paradis in Paris. This gentleman filed a patent on November 10, 1942 (Patent No. 888,466) for a "Fastener for securing sheets of paper together or similar applications."
A small notice published in Les Echos in July 1948 reads as follows: "Leaving for Indochina, will consider all proposals. Write to Elola, 50 Rue de Paradis, Paris."

A second notice, also in Les Echos, in September 1948, informs us that Ets Elola, located at 50 Rue de Paradis in Paris, is selling rice sticks and rice bowls, guaranteed to withstand boiling water! There is a certain logic to this in connection with the earlier mention of Indochina.

Elola

In 1948, they were selling colored pencils in a box and ballpoint pens.

In November 1949, there is finally an advertisement in the Qui? newspaper for a camera. The illustration shows a camera resembling the Emcé, not the Dep-Box. The advertisement mentions the sale of 10,000 cameras.
In May 1950, in the same newspaper, the illustration is modified.
