History of the brand Minolta New window

Simpler counterpart of the XD-7, the XD-5 does not have to be ashamed! It only loses the shutter speed display in the viewfinder, the correct film loading indicator window, and the eye-piece shutter.

On the other hand, it still benefits from the double automatism which had created the event when the XD-7 was released: speed priority (with the MD lenses with two coupling lugs) or aperture priority (with the MD lenses or the former MCs). The "M" setting is retained for manual operation. In this case, the cell indicates the recommended speed.

Sold cheaper than its predecessor, the XD-5 offered an attractive alternative to demanding photographers.
