The successor of Canon new-F1 was introduced in France at the time of the Grand Prix of Formula 1 on the circuit Paul Ricard in July 1989. He positioned in direct competitor of Nikon F4. The power is provided by a 6 volts Lithium battery. It is placed in the handle. The booster requires removing this battery. Itself contains eight AA batteries.
There are four modes of exposure measure: Spots selective, balanced integration centered and multi-zone evaluative. The modes of exhibition are: Program, Priorité speed, Priorité aperture, semi-automatic, mode DEPTH.
