Ferrania Condor I

Traduction de Sylvain Halgand.

This camera resembling Leica, with its three windows in frontage (including two for the rangefinder), was manufactured since 1947 in Florence, then in Milan. It was conceived by Officine Galileo, manufacturer of optics since many years. Ferrania, hitherto manufacturer of consumable and bottom-of-the-range cameras joined Galileo so that this last manufactured in subcontracting a camera of top-of-the-range. Certain models can to be found without Ferrania inscription. Mine bears this name engraved on the higher cap.
In spite of certain resemblances to Leica, this Italian camera is with fixed lens. Its shutter is powerful, since it allows the 1/500 second. The lens is Eliog 3,5/5 cm. My camera is old (n° 016377), because the openings are marked up to 25, whereas thereafter, they stop to 22.
