Lumiere Lumiflex

Traduction de Sylvain Halgand.

Lumiere to have a 6 X 6 camera in its range used a body provided by Atoms, which was painted out of chestnut and was covered with a of the same sleeving color. The original cap-finder was replaced by a specific model sheltering Lumipose, already available on Eljy Club.
This Lumipose is a rudimentary photographic exposure meter (one will find similar on the Elite fex) made up of a small plastic plate where are the letters “Lumipose”. Each letter is a little less transparent than the preceding one. With the ambient luminosity, all the letters are thus not inevitably readable. By taking of account the last perfectly readable letter and while referring to the table located at the back of the camera, one can find the data of exposure. For that, it is necessary to put at coincidence the last readable letter with the weather of the moment. For example, if the last readable letter is O and that you are in the shade, you have the choice between the combinations: 1/300 seconds and 5,6 or 1/50 and 11 etc… the indications will have to be deferred on the lens and the shutter to obtain a correct exposure.

The lens is an anastigmat Spector 4,5. The shutter goes until the 1/300 second.

In 1953, this camera was sold 11600 francs .
