The A26 is very compact, but frankly not beautiful, as it is very angular (its resemblance to a package of cigarettes was an advertising point), but efficient. When closed, all is protected. Upon opening it, the lens (Sonnar f3.5/40 mm) is exposed, the viewfinder revealed, and the shutter cocked. You have no control over shutter speed or aperture; a CdS cell programs the shutter from 1/30 second @ f3.5 up to 1/250 second @ f22. The film speed sensing extends from 50 to 400 ASA. The C26 flash works only with this camera. The flash exposure is automatic from 3.5 ft to 13 ft., and the flash operates from a rechargeable ni-cad battery. It was made in Germany.
