Busch Emil Freewheel mod.A

Busch Camera Co. London was the British subsidiary of Emil Busch AG Rathenow .

This subsidiary distributed its own range of equipment in the early 1900s.

The " Freewheel " model A is a horizontal type folding. It seems to differentiate from the model B only its lens. A Busch 's Rapid Rectilinear opening at f8 on the A and brighter on the B : f6

"freewheel" designation would highlight one of the features of this device which is the ability to disengage the key to advancing the film and thus to rewind the film to use the opportunity , quite unique in my opinion, to use the plates without holder through an orifice on the top of the body .this orifice,, masked by a retractable metal plate , also allowed for the introduction of a ground glass for a correct focus .

Curiously, the leather handle on the side of the unit is marked "Cameo" that does not match with anything known in Busch. We find Cameo foldings in Butcher at the same time. Is this a reuse ?
