Chronology of cameras Polaroid

__________
In 1986, Polaroid launched the Image System.
In 1990, Polaroid relaunched the concept by improving it, and not just a little, to the point of having reached a peak for this type of device. The overall look remains the same and the film is still the 92 x 79 mm rectangular 10-frame Polaroid Image. The charger contains a 6-volt Polapulse battery. The sensitivity of the film is 600 iso.
At the back of the device, a liquid crystal screen replaces the many buttons of other versions. Only five buttons remain. A "mode" button allows you to choose a function, two "Up" and "Down" keys allow you to activate or deactivate the function. A button triggers the self-timer. Another switches the device to "all automatic".
The lens is a glass/plastic hybrid. It consists of an anterior group comprising three anti-reflective treated glass lenses. The rear element, called "Quintic", is very complete. It is mobile and has a bean shape. It is plastic. When focusing, it is this rear group that moves. The development is done by 10 levels.
Focusing is autofocus. It is ensured by an ultrasound system. This system has been around since the 1978 Sx-70 One Step. What's new to the Image Pro (and therefore different from the earlier Image System) is that a calculator called Bias Focus shifts back focus from what the sonar returned to it. This makes better use of the depth of field. When the shutter button is pressed, and as long as it is not released, the focus distance is memorized and displayed in the viewfinder.
It is possible to manually adjust the focus (yes!) using the function key and the "Up" and "Down" buttons.
Exposure is controlled by two silicon cells. They handle the mixture of natural light and flash very well. Fortunately, since the flash is systematically used by default. It is possible to stop it with the Function key. It is possible to adjust the exposure manually. The exposure time can go up to 120 seconds per press of the shutter button. It is also possible to program the length of the exposure (within the limit of 120 seconds).
It is possible to over or under-expose at will and even to practice voluntary overexposure (up to 5 images). An intervalometer makes it possible to take a series of photos spaced out by a time lapse of 3 to 20 seconds.
