Chronology of cameras Agfa

Traduction de Manuel M

Billy are automatic cameras. I.e. that with the opening, the bellows spread alone and completely and the light unit is in position, ready for exposure.
This characteristic was, with beginning of the year 30, an evolution. A hand was enough to put the camera in use; not need to get out on the bellows for the set up.

Very first Billy have an angular case. Quickly, the ends will swell. The Billy series will continue his existence far beyond the second world war.

This model of 1930 or 1931 has the characteristics of first Billy, left in 1928. It is characterized some by its Igestar lens.
It does not have a viewfinder on the case, but a bright tip-up viewfinder on the optic unit.

The focusing is made thanks to a selector which offers the choice between two positions: Nah and Fern (near and far).
A second selector proposes three diaphragms (with perforated disc): 8.5 - 12.5 - 8.5
Lastly, the shutter allows three speeds:  1/25 1/50 and 1/100 to which the B position is added.
When the shutter is regulated on the B position, a small lever placed at the top of shutter release can be lowered in order to block this one; the T position thus is obtained.

Billy I exists in black, blue, grey and Havana.
