Atoms Atoflex I

Traduction de Sylvain Halgand

In 1946, the firm from Nice whose initials mean “Association of Technicians in Optics and Scientific Mechanics”, launched the first specimen of TLR Aiglon”. This one, rather basic, did not make it possible to make a true focusing of the reflex type, since it did not have coupling between the lens of viewfinding and that of shooting.
Atoflex, left years little after, was a definitely improved version, since it has a true reflex viewfinding and focusing. There are three models of Atoflex, of which the differences are on the level shutter speeds and luminosity of the lens. The shutters manufactured by Atoms were baptized Atos.

In 1950, Atoms decided the manufacture of simplified Atoflex (less shutter speeds and absence of sporting finder), but more powerful than the initial Aiglon. It was called Aiglon reflex. The Aiglon and Atoflex is of 6 X 6 cm.

The lens of viewfinding is Angénieux (standard Z5) 70/3,3 and that of shooting, Angénieux (standard U1) 75/4,5, numbered here 145133 (sequence of numbers: 116707 - 170652).
Atoflex with lens 4,5 was worth in 1950 (Photo-Plait) 23790 francs, the same one with lens 3,5 was worth 27190 francs .
