Chronology of cameras Cambo

The Dutch company Cambo developed equipment for professionals, initially in large format, and later devices for passport photos with the Polaroid system (World Patent for a four-lens camera in 1967). In 1983, they created the PP 60 using the "Kodak Instant Film Back Model 2," either at the request of Kodak or Nigeria for its "Nigerian National Identification Programme" launched in 1963. The discontinuation of Instant Film manufacturing by Kodak in 1986 posed an additional challenge for this already troubled identification card program.

The camera has two superimposed lenses: Cambonar 125 mm lenses with an aperture of f/8, allowing for six 30 x 33 mm views per exposure thanks to the sliding back. A small lever enables changing the aperture, marked from 1 to 6. Lighting is provided by an integrated electronic flash powered by batteries or mains through a small transformer. The large bottom button handles the winding and movement of the back from one shot to the next.

The fact that this camera could handle three different clients in a single photo seems to confine it to very specific use, and it doesn't appear to have existed on the civilian market.

At the top is the viewfinder, and below it is the compartment for the 4 AA batteries for the flash. At the bottom left, there's the On/Off switch, a socket for powering the flash from the mains. The lever is used to cock the shutter. The back is on its 3-position slide. We can see the round socket allowing optional power from a dedicated block.

We can see the two small darkroom, behind which the back moves to obtain the six portraits in the same photo.
