Chronology of cameras Barbier et Thierry

While the presentation text may appear verbose, it becomes evident that it doesn't truly aim to enlighten the buyer and, most importantly, leaves the collector wanting more.

In 1931, Alfred Brunner, a construction engineer located at 1, rue Maison Dieu in Paris, introduced it in advertising. The dissected view reveals that focusing is done on a thin frosted glass strip, outside the recorded image. After achieving focus, framing must be ensured using an external viewfinder.

The proposed solution echoes, in a simpler form, what Lucien Beaugers would offer in the 1950s for his Lubo, but none truly captivated the reporters of their time...

The Vidi system was patented by Jean Klopcic (FR617304A) in 1925. To prevent light from entering from the rear and veiling the plate during exposure, there is an accessory shutter linked to the main shutter, thus isolating the small focusing chamber during shooting.

It seems that Klopcic is the creator of this camera, but he entrusted the construction to Brunner, who seems to have incorporated elements from his own patents (FR541694, FR574268, FR592658, FR672679). There existed a stereoscopic Vidi model using two 10x13 cm plates, at the time when J. Klopcic resided in Sartrouville, in Seine-et-Oise.

The device is, in any case, entirely different from what the "Vidil" film offered, which included tracing paper between each film plane.

This klapp bears many analogies with the Reporter, whose longevity has made the history complex and still confusing.
