Chronology of cameras Polaroid

The Polaroid ProCam is an exception within the Image/Spectra range. Most visible difference with the Image cameras stands in the opening mechanism that is more complex and uses a lateral hinge. The other difference is more discreet: the ProCam is equipped with a wide angle lens, corresponding to 33 mm focal length in 24 x 36 format equivalent. Minimal focusing distance is thus of 46 cm only, and can be reduced to 25 cm with the push-up lens that is shipped within the package. You can then properly put the additionnal lens away within the pouch attached to the camera strap.

Electronic features of the ProCam include a data back that prints the picture date within the frame. This is done at the cost of other exposure control features that can be found on other Spectra cameras. The user still has the ability to overcome the flash and the autofocus system: focus is set to infinitiy, e.g. allowing to shoot through a window.

The camera on this page was sold 890 FF in 1999.
