Chronology of cameras Certo
The Certo Super-Sport Dolly model B is designed for 4.5 x 6 cm plates (or film packs) and 120 rollfilm (allowing formats 6 x 6 and 4.5 x 6 cm). Contrary to model C, the film cannot be wound and thus it is not possible to use only a partial portion of the roll. It was produced between 1934 and 1942. This particular camera is from before 1939, when the viewfinder changed side.
There is a lever on the lower part of the front standard which changes focusing distance between plates/film packs and rollfilm. The lens/shutter unit is interchangeable, and a lever on the top of the front standard releases and locks the unit. In the back door there is a table with depth of field values.
The shutter is a F. Deckel Compur with speeds in the range 1 to 1/250 plus B and T. A button sets the delayed release of the shutter (approximately 10 s). The lens is a Meyer Gorlitz Trioplan with 7.5 cm of focal length and maximum aperture of 2.9. Focusing is achieved at the lens (in feet), and groundglass focusing can be made when using plates of film packs.
