Argus C44

Traduction de Sylvain Halgand

C44 is C4 modified to receive interchangeable lenses. There exists of C4 with interchangeable lenses, but it is of modified cameras and not about origin. C44 corresponds to a new model. It was manufactured in 1956 and 1957. Like C4, it is about one 35 mm with coupled rangefinder. In spite of a line on the other hand, we recognize some family resemblances to bricks, in particular in the selector of speed and the operating mode of the rangefinder.
It is presented here with its basic lens, which is with 4 elements, whereas the equivalent lens on C4, was only with three elements. There was also one 4,5/35 mm and one 3,5/100 mm In 1956, the camera with its basic lens, was sold $97,50. The 35 mm was worth $56,5 and the 100 mm was worth $59,50.
A special finder (variable Argus power viewfinder) could adapt on the clip to adapt the viewfinding to the focal distance ($14,50). At the same place, could fit a cell Argus L44 ($17,50).
