Le G6 apporte peu de changements par rapport au Powershot G5. Certes, le capteur passe à 7 MP et l'encombrement est moindre, mais les résultats obtenus restent similaires. Le G6 fait même moins bien que le Powershot G3 au niveau du contrôle du bruit. Par contre, la vitesse de réaction s'est bien améliorée. Dommage qu'un grand-angle ne vienne pas justifier ce nouveau modèle.
