Chronology of cameras Gilles-Faller
This format 18 x 24 cm camera, from the French manufacturer GILLES-FALLER, was built before 1939.
Suitable for glass plates and film sheets, it can be used in the studio as well as outdoor, the weight of nearly ten kilograms requiring a robust foot.
The deployment of the bellows, more than 60cm, allows with the lens, here a Boyer Saphir 210mm 1:4.5 the macro photography with a format close to 1:1.
The fabric shutter offers six approximate speeds stepped from 1/15 to 1/90 second.
Some possible motions: front offset and rear rotation for a camera, more comfortable without their use, in landscape or portrait.
In addition to the classic back with ground glass which is to be removed to insert the chassis, another back can replace it: a sliding system that allows you to move more easily from the ground glass to the chassis without getting inside the camera.
