Buisson Detective

Bush was a small manufacturer of the late nineteenth century. There were many such small makers whose history of vintage cameras has not remembered the name . Their local operations , the lack of originality of their production has doomed them to oblivion. However, some of them, even if they were "local" fabricated original or ingenious items. This is the case of Buisson manufactures .

This is a primitive detective, mahogany , unsheathed . (No. 370)

Its lens is unmarked, on a "JB" shutter from Buisson with cocking through a cord system with three speeds obtained by spring tension . The diaphragm is rotary type with four holes . The focus is done by means of a rack moving a small drawer which support the lens block.
The plate storage contains twelve plates and is key locked . The compartment receiving the exposed plates is closed by a curtain made of wood slats similarly to double plate holders .

The retraction system was patented by the Lumière brothers .

Such a device did cost 250 francs at the time.
