Leica IIf

The Leica IIf is a "popular" version of the Leica IIIf in that it lacks the slow speeds. The buyer of the time could have the  slow speeds selector added later on by Leitz workshopsin place of the round plate in the front panel and thus transform the IIF in IIIf.

35,999 Leica IIF were produced between 1951 and 1956.

There are three versions of the Leica IIf:
- The oldest is recognizable by its black indications on its synchronization delay selector. It offers the following speeds: 1/30, 1/40, 1/60, 1/100, 1/200, 1/500 + B.
- The interim model with red indications on its synchronization delay selector. It offers the following speeds: 1/25, 1/50, 1/75, 1/100, 1/200, 1/500 + B.
- The latest version incorporates the features of the previous models but with the highest sutter speed reching 1 / 1000th.

The camera presented here here carries the serial number 678119. It is a IIf "latest version" made in 1954.
Most often, this camera is equipped with the famous Elmar 5cm f = 1: 3.5 which is considered the standard Leica optical. This one is equipped with a Summitar f = 5cm 1: 2 dated 1949 showing the number 737 866 .
