Mapip Alpine Jumelle

This jumelle type camera was built by the company named "Manufacture  d’Appareils Photographiques et d’Instruments de Précision", directed by the brothers Antonin and Leon Boulade.
It is equipped with a 8-speeds shutter. A sliding blade with three holes makes possible the choice of one of the apertures.
The Boulade brothers were intimate friends of the Lumière brothers and provided the arc lighting systems of the first cinematographic projectors. In 1897, they hired Francis Pascal as production manager, but he left the house before launching the manufacture of his "Le Pascal" camera by Japy.
