Chronology of cameras Kershaw

Traduction de David Bain, Grande-Bretagne

This jolly penguin is simple yet well made. Its body is made of metal
coated, unusually, with a textured black paint. The lens and shutter
unit is of plastic while the remaining metal parts are nicely chromed.
More than fifty years after it was manufactured, it has an astonishing
freshness. Only the bellows, which is presumably of coated cardboard,
shows any signs of its age. Distance setting is by moving the
lens/shutter unit. The shutter has a single speed and "B" settings,
while two aperture settings - f11 and f16 - are available.The
lens/shutter assembly is mounted on a linkage which maintains its
alignment with the back while opening and closing; it is necessary to
set the focus at infinity  before attempting this. Film loading is made
easy by the completely removable back and hinged spool-holders.
Unusually the carrying handle is fitted to the side, rather than the
end, of the camera.
