Chronology of cameras Soho
Considering that this camera is rather a bottom of the range type (Its only available setting is an instant/time exposure switchover), the Soho model B is nevertheless built from a solid and beautiful dark red bakelite engraved with lines and patterns. The lens board is made of tortoiseshell nicely coloured dark brown. The use of tortoiseshell for this camera may seem odd. It may shock in terms of nature protection. It is true today, but it must be reminded that tortoiseshell has been massively used up to the fifties and sixties for making combs, spectacle rims etc. Tortoiseshell is easy to work, light, and offers, after polishing, an unrivaled aspect.
