The Panros is a Strut folding camera that was delivered by Ross Ltd from 1909. This specimen (in 3 ¼ x 4 ¼ plate format) corresponds to the 'model 1910' as advertised in this date on the Photographic Journal of the Royal Photographic Society. It was made in the following sizes: 3 ½ x 2 ½, 3 ¼ x 4 ¼, 5 x 4, postcard, tropical (5 x 4 only). The bellows are pleated and the front panel has lateral grips for opening the camera.
The focal plane shutter delivers speeds in the range 1/15 to 1/1000 plus B and T. It has fixed tension and speeds are set by the varying slit width. The lens is a Ross Homocentric with a focal length of 5 inches and maximum aperture of 5.6, mounted in a lensboard with horizontal and vertical movements.
