Entirely made of bakelite, it was manufactured in 1950 by H. WOLF GmbH ( Wuppertal - Germany) for the Belgian company Gevaert .
In 1951 followed the Gevabox I ( also called Gevabox 6x9 ) , and in 1955 , the Gevabox II ( that was the third model to wear the name Gevabox ) .
This little box camera with the particular shape offers the choice between instant and bulb exposure (cursor indicating M <- > B at right on the photo) and between two apertures (cursor indicating 16 < -> 8 left on the photo) .
The shutter release is located at the top right (left on the photo) in the middle of a fake dial ( need for symmetrical aesthetic ) . A thread for cable release exists in the bakelite itself just in front of this false wheel.
The adjustment of the distances is carried out by rotation of the lens , a meniscus ( f / 8 , 75 mm) mounted on helical screws. Distances are indicated on the periphery of the lens ( 1.5-3 , 4-6 , 7 - ∞ ) .
This camera has a twin brother : the Adox 66.
