Chronology of cameras Contax

Traduction de Manuel M

The 137 and the 139 are presented to Photokina of 1978 when they come (in end) to supplement the range which for several years contain… only one camera, the RTS.

The 137, in this Kina, is the only reflex camera with integrated motor (IMS integrated motor system). It is its first “First”. Its second “First” is that it is equipped with a TTL measure to the flash. For that, it has two cells. One is placed in a traditional way close to the eyepiece, the other is inside the dark room and takes the TTL measure with the flash. This 137 will become the 137 MD.

In 1982 (deliverable in France as from summer 83), the 137 MA quartz which will differ of the first model 137 by an increase of the speed of the motor, which will do from 2 i/s to 3i/s and by a modified drawing of the crank of rewinding.

Contrary to Konica FS-1 which is slightly corpulent, Contax has a lead sole. The batteries are hidden there. It is possible to connect an external power supply.
