Chronology of cameras Busch
Manufactured in Chicago, this double-extension press camera uses 2¼ x 3¼ inch sheet films (approximately 6 x 9 cm).
In this version, it is equipped with three viewfinders, including a Kalart rangefinder for capturing shots from 4 meters to infinity. The rangefinder supports part of the flash synchronization system, with the other part fixed on the lens board.
The back allows the insertion of film holders, a six-plate magazine, or a roll film adapter without removing the ground glass.
Made of lightweight alloy and compact in design, this camera allows handheld use as favored by American reporters. However, it also enables more intricate shots with horizontal and vertical shifts and forward tilts.
It's worth noting that the lens board/shutter assembly is mounted upside down to facilitate the attachment of the trigger on the end of the flash synchronization piston.
