Chronology of cameras Gaumont

The name of this big strut type folding camera suggests it was designed for field reporters. This impression is reinforced by the presence of an external folding viewfinder which promotes shooting "on the fly".
It is very solid design with an all-metal body and a wooden front plate. The ability to mount a 12 views magazine instead of single plate holder gave the reporter from this time some work autonomy.
The relatively large weight of the unit and magazine together, however, was not facilitating the work of the photo-journalist.
Serial number of the camera body: 7438.
Serial number of the lens: 858390
