Chronology of cameras Voigtlander
This is the second of two Vitorets. It has flat ends instead of the rounded ones on the earlier model. This gives it the facility to stand on its end or even to lean back up to 15 degrees without the use of a tripod. There is a socket for a cable release under the trigger. The name 'Lanthar' is said to derive from the use of Lanthanum to make a very hard glass. Lanthanum is slightly radio active.
