Chronology of cameras Cosina

Traduction de Sylvain Halgand

The CX-1 and the CX-2 were announced in the French press specialized in November 1980. Both are small compact 35 mm with progammed automatism.

The CX-1 has a Cosinon F/3,5 lens of 33 mm, whereas the CX-2 has a Cosinon F/2,8 lens of 33 mm (5 elements in 5 groups).

The general aspect is identical for the two cameras. The lens and the finder are protected by a metal shutter inserted in a casing which it is necessary to turn of a quarter of turn so that the shutter retracts. Release is impossible if rotation is not complete.

The focusing is indexed and it is done by a cursor located under the lens (little practices). The tiny serrated roller which we see in top and on the right side is the setting of sensitivity of the film, whose value in asa appears in a small window, on the right of the serrated roller.

The choice of the aperture or the recourse to the automatism is possible thanks to the lever which is on the left side of the lens.

The finder of the CX-2 provides more information than that of the CX-1. The value of the focusing is pointed out there, what is not the case of the CX-1. The CX-2 can receive a rearmor, but not the CX-1 and has a retarder (9 secondes).
The CX-1 weighs 225 grams.
