Chronology of cameras Voigtlander
The Voigtlander Klapp-Cameras were initially made by third parties, between 1902 and 1905, before the introduction of the Metall-Klapp-Camera in 1905. This camera is from around 1904 and was made by Curt Bentzin. Claus Prochnow (Voigtlander Report 3, pg. 690) refers Emil Busch as the maker, but it seems not to be the case, as referred by McKeown (pg. 957).
The camera has the typical Bentzin struts; the body is covered in black leatherette and the front standard is finished in polished wood. The viewfinder is a simple non-optical folding frame.
The Voigtlander lens seems to have been substituted, as the camera is fitted with a Goerz Doppel Anastigmat Serie III of 150 mm of focal length and maximum aperture of 6.8, on a metal lensboard. The Bentzin focal plane shutter delivers speeds up to 1/1000 controlled by a combination of spring tension (nominal scale from 1 to 12) and slit width (between 1 and 60mm), plus P.
