Chronology of cameras Agfa Ansco
Agfa and Ansco joined forces in the American market between 1928 and 1943. Agfa-Ansco, a subsidiary of I.G. Farbenindustrie in the United States infiltrated by Nazi spies (as reported on the evening of August 5, 1951), was absorbed as enemy property, and Ansco continued its activities independently.
During this period, some models were marketed under the Agfa Ansco or Ansco brand. This partnership is the reason why one can find Agfa cameras labeled "Made in USA."
Le Clipper PD16 is neither a folding camera nor a klapp camera , as the lens is mounted at the end of a sliding tube with a rectangular section.
PD-16 corresponds to the designation of the 616 format by Agfa Ansco.
The Clipper underwent changes during its manufacturing period. The model described here is one of the early versions, as the viewfinder is still a folding type, while it would later be integrated into the camera's top cover.

This patent was filed on March 18, 1939, and published on July 23, 1940. The inventors are Lew W. Lessler and John Kenneth Polhemus, and the applicant is General Aniline & Film Corporation. It pertains to a type of camera with telescopic or foldable parts in which light leaks are minimized.
