Chronology of cameras Ansco
As many Ansco cameras, the folding models of the brand have a code in their name indicating the negative format. The rest of the name is more random and is especially unreliable when reproduced by distributors.
Therefore, having an exhaustive list of folding models is a daunting task. Here is a draft of a list of folding cameras:

The "Junior" models are an economical alternative to a more sophisticated model. The most obvious difference is the lens support, which in the case of the Junior models does not allow for movements like lens tilting or shifting. Lenses and shutters might also differ, but this alone isn't a sufficient identification key.
Sometimes, French distributors refer to these models as "Pliant," referencing the term "Folding". There is no equivalent word in the original names of these cameras. __________
This camera is of considerable size, producing negatives sized at 8 x 10.5. It is very robust, entirely metallic, and covered in very thick leather. The leather has difficulty adhering to the alloy, likely a Zamac type. In fact, the lower part of the covering is missing, a major flaw that the American seller on eBay managed to conceal in their listing.
What captures the most attention are the two struts. They have a highly unusual shape. The larger one, which supports the camera vertically, retracts behind the lens board, conforming to the attachment point of the bellows on this board.
Upon opening the back, patent publication dates are engraved on the inside of the door. Here is what they correspond to:
September 20, 1910 970,603 Film winding key |
April 4, 1916 1,178,439 Viewfinder |
||||||
September 24, 1912 1,039,088 Camera |
August 29, 1916 1,196,209 Lens support |
