Chronology of cameras Fabricant inconnu 1

This Nanar (official designation given by www.collection-appareils.fr for any camera more likely to end up in the trash than in a collector's showcase) is without a brand or identified manufacturer. It's universal as it's found not only in Japan, but also in Australia or France
Even its country of manufacture is difficult to determine because it's only indicated on a golden oval sticker placed under the camera, which in most cases is missing. It originates from China.

This model is recognizable by its rather decent design for a Nanar. The molding allows for a finger rest for the right hand. The viewfinder is positioned at the center of the camera and is very wide since the camera is panoramic. Seen from the front, it sits at the bottom of a rectangular opening with edges forming small steps. The same design is found in an oval depression around the lens. A hot shoe with flash contacts is located above the viewfinder.

Film winding and rewinding are manual. The crank, as well as the shutter release button and the lens cover opening slider, are often of a different color than the camera body. If you open the back, you can see covers that mask the top and bottom of the negative. When printing, you need to cut corresponding black bands, resulting in a print that's very wide compared to its height. For many manufacturers, this is sufficient to call it a panoramic camera. In the case of this model, it has a 25mm lens, which adds some interest combined with the "trick" of printing. Such a short focal length also provides a large depth of field. The inner cover can be easily removed.

The shutter speed is fixed (1/100) and there's no sensitivity adjustment affecting the aperture.

This camera, with a very low production cost, naturally served as advertising support for many advertisers.

The manufacturing period is currently unknown, but judging by the design, probably inspired by reputable brands' cameras, it's likely from the 1990s. Some advertiser trademarks confirm this. For example, the first Zomig brand registrations date back to 1996.
