Mess pour Messsucher, ce qui signifie télémètre en allemand.
Il s'agit de l'évolution d'Ikonta, pour intégrer sous un capot, un télémètre non couplé au viseur. Les Mess-Ikonta sont de deux types : 6 x 6 ou 6 x 9 cm. Le 6 x 6 dérive du Ikonta (523/16), et le 6 x 9 du Ikonta (523/2) qui ont un capot, mais pas de télémètre. On se rapproche des Super Ikonta, mais ceux-ci conservent l'avantage d'objectif de meilleure qualité.
Cet exemplaire au format 6 x 6, a un objectif Novar 4,5/75 mm et un obturateur Prontor-SV.
