Vivitar présenta lors de la Photokina de 1978, des Pocket de forme très habituelle. Leurs caractéristiques techniques sont également ordinaires.
Le 703 est l'évolution du 603. Il est bi-focale. L'objectif normal est un 24 mm à trois lentilles en verre optique. Un groupe de trois lentilles supplémentaires peut venir s'ajouter, transformant ainsi l'objectif en télé-objectif de 36 mm.
