Chronology of cameras Kenko

The Kenko KF-M1 is a Nikon F (AI) mount SLR camera with manual exposure control.

In addition to long time exposure (B), the shutter speed ranges from 1 second to 1/4000.
The viewfinder is uncluttered, the information being limited to 3 diodes (correct exposure, over and under exposure).
Focusing is manual with a split-image range finder line at a 45° angle surrounded by a microprism doughnut.

Multiple exposure is available via the front button on the top cover, under the frame counter. A push button allows depth of field preview.

The Kenko KF-M1 is a limited edition specifically designed for the Japanese dealer Map Camera. It was developed on the basis of the Kenko KF-2N with some changes:
- Black finish instead of silver.
- The grip part is omitted. "Changed to a luxurious finish with full-grained leather" according to the words translated from the Map Camera web site (backed up in 2008).
- The memo-film on the body back does not include a conversion table (DIN-ASA).

The particularity of this camera is that no brand marking appears on the body. Alike the other Kenko's of the KF series, only the KF-M1 reference is engraved on the upper cover back, under the film advance lever.

In February 2012, Map Camera was still offering the last KF-M1's in its stock for 4980 Yen (body only), hence for less than 50 Euros according to the EUR / JPY exchange rate of the time. A kit including a Kenko 19-35mm f1: 3.5-4.5 wide-angle zoom lens was also available for 9980 Yen.
