The Fuji 670 GW III professional is a manual rangefinder with a fixed lens. The 670 figures indicate that it is a 6 x 7 film size camera. There is also a 6 x 9 very similar. It is called 690. (And a 6 x 8, which is called ...)
The 670 GW III released in 1992, comes after the 670 II released in 1985. The III has undergone a change of material, rubber parts improve the grip. A small bubble level was added at the top of the cover.
The 690 comes in GW (wide) and GSW (super wide-angle), I do not believe that this choice was left to the buyer in the case of the 670. It seems that the only possible choice was therefore the 3.5/90mm lens (beware, it deals with a 6 x 7 size. This is the equivalent to a 44mm lens with a 135 camera).
The central shutter allows shutter speeds from one second to 1/500 per sec with the T setting. The central shutter allows flash synchronization at all shutter speeds.
The two setting rings (speed and aperture) are located on the lens under the built-in hood. The proximity of the two rings makes the handling a little annoying.
The 670 weighs a kilo and a half, which is reasonable for such a camera. The addition of rubber makes easy the handling without a tripod. Having two release buttons (one above and one in front) is a very good thing.
The viewfinder is very large and equipped with a parallax correction.
The Fuji 670 and 690 are no longer manufactured, but Fuji sells yet (May 2007) a 4.5 x 6 camera fairly close.
The camera, with a 400 ISO film to have depth of field, allows getting quality 40x50 enlargements.
