The Zorki 3M is considered by many to be the finest and most innovative Russian rangefinder camera.
Taking it in hands, sliding his eye behind the beautiful viewfinder, setting the target to his sight is to know a pleasure that few camera of the time may provide.
This camera succeeds to the Zorki 3 of which it is an evolution (presence of slow speeds on the same wheel as the other speeds, use of the Jupiter 8 lenses).
Availability of strap rings.
1/1 ratio viewfinder with combined rangefinder.
Speeds 1/1000 to B + slow speeds.
No flash sync.
This camera is quite sought-after because of the small number of items produced as well as because its intrinsic qualities.
It is given as much more reliable than the Zorki 3.
For the anecdote, 'M' just stands for the name of its designer: Marienkov.
