There is a safe bet that Jonte, primarily specializing in wood, has been a distributor here. The body is made of wood, covered with leather, but the bed is metallic.
The first decade of the twentieth century was marked by the early replacement of plate cameras by those using flexible films. Many manufacturers have hybrid solutions. This is the case here, but the novelty of the flexible film is emphasized to the point of making it a model name (Pellicule in French means flexible film). The pretty ivory type plate above the lens bears the manufacturer's names as well as the aperture scale.
There are two small ivory plates marked with distances on the horizontal bed, one for the use of plates and one for the use of films.
There are two viewfinders: one frame type, huge and articulated, almost useless (but there is no ground glass) and a second one, reversible, to allow horizontal or vertical framing.
The shutter is of a particular use. There is a slider to specify a choice between instant and time exposure. In the first case, you have to think to set, at opposite to the lens, the speed on a second cursor: 1, 2, 10, 25, 50 and 100.
It is possible to shift the lens in both axes.
