Les appareils fabriqués par Candid Camera Corporation of America s'appellent pour la plupart Perfex, et il y a souvent une confusion entre le nom des modèles et celui de la marque.
A l'exception du premier et du dernier modèle, les Perfex se ressemblent tous.
Ce sont tous des appareils utilisant le film 135.
La partie basse de leur corps est noire. Le capot métallique est généralement couleur métal. Il intègre le viseur et le télémètre. Suivant les modèles, il peut également s'y trouver un posemètre à extinction.
Certains modèles sont à objectif interchangeable.
La différence d'un modèle à l'autre tient souvent à l'objectif et à son ouverture maximale.

Les appareils Perfex ont été fabriqués pendant une dizaine d'années. Il leur est souvent reproché un manque de fiabilité. __________
The Perfex de Luxe could be purchased with a lens opening at 2.8, or, at a higher cost, a lens opening at 2. It no longer has a built-in light meter.
The large ring located at the base of the lens allows for distance adjustment. Speed adjustment is done by pulling upwards, then turning the large knob around the shutter release. Strangely, the 1/500 speed is between 1/200 and 1/250. The slow speeds are on a separate button on the front. To engage them, the upper speed setting must be positioned at 1/25. Next to the number 1/25, a small "s" indicates the "slow" speeds. The winding is coupled to the film advance.
With age, the aperture ring becomes very difficult to turn, inevitably loosening the lens.
