Chronology of cameras Gomz

The Komsomolets were members of the Komsomol, i.e. the Leninist Communist Youth Union (ВсесоюзныйЛенинскийкоммунистическийсоюзмолодёжи). This organization, founded in 1918, was completely dependent of the Communist Party. It was established in schools, factories and universities. It was dedicated to youth from 14 to 28 years. Leisure and indoctrination went there together.

This camera, which is more or less a copy of the Voigtlander Brilliant, by name, is directly targeting young Soviets as customers,. Like the original, the viewing lens is fixed. So there is no focus on ground glass. The model will be upgraded later on to give the Lubitel, with focus on ground glass and whose name is a little bit more attractive outside of the east bloc.
