Chronology of cameras Ansco
This model is quite rare, even in the USA, where it was released in 1947. Its price was very high at the time (explaining its rarity), but its level of quality matched the cost. Americans were not very prominent in the high-end twin-lens reflex (TLR) camera market, unlike the Germans and, later, the Japanese. This camera stands out as one of the exceptions.
It's a true reflex camera; the two lenses are coupled. Focusing is done using a large side knob, while a lever on the opposite side allows for film advancement (not shutter cocking in the earlier models). Speed and aperture settings are controlled by two knobs protruding on the front, one on each side of the lenses.
Double or triple exposures are possible due to an unlock feature. Additionally, it features a frame counter, a rarity for a 120 format camera.
This first model, in addition to the ground glass focusing screen with a loupe, also features a viewfinder for quick framing.
