Chronology of cameras APEM
APM is a British manufacturer that emerged from the merger of several older manufacturers, including Rajar, Kershaw, and Marion, in 1921. APM stands for Amalgamated Photographic Manufacturers, as it's quite clear. The commercial brand is APEM, which is easier to pronounce than APM. In 1929, the association split, with a portion retaining the name APEM and becoming part of Ilford.
__________The APeM, having had a short duration, allows us to date the box featured on the 1927 Dunmore catalog page. It is earlier than 1927 and definitely after 1921.
It is a standard box camera available in both 120 and 116 formats.
The brand is indicated on the handle and on a small riveted plate on the front above the lens.
