Chronology of cameras Huttig
The Gnom is a small camera constructed from pressed meta sheet l and wrapped in a black leather imitation coating.
It has a magazine plate, which is removed by means of a lever placed on top.
Its viewfinder is mobile and can be placed on top or on the side of the housing with two pins.
The shutter consists of a perforated metal disk, requiring cocking with a two positions small lever. The lever half way up gives the time exposure function. The lever led to full-stroke gives the instant exposure function. The rotation of the perforated disc upon cocking makes the opening passing in front of the lens and therefore requires the positioning of a cover at the front of the lenss before cocking the shutter. The second lever is the trigger.
It seems that this device has also been sold in England under the name "Little Nipper".
