A part la plaquette VSOE du Service Après-Vente Européen, c’est un OM-2 MD.
On trouve l'explication à l'intérieur des appareils portant cette plaquette, sous la forme d'une seconde étiquette. On y apprend que VSOE signifie Voll-Service-Olympus-Europa. Seuls les appareils portant ces informations, et importés légalement en Allemagne peuvent prétendre au recours au SAV de Hambourg.
L'OM-2 a été le premier appareil à mesurer la lumière directement sur le film (OTF).
