Chronology of cameras Barbier et Thierry

Between the wars, 9 x 12 folding cameras were at their peak, with many distributors featuring them in their catalogs, and numerous manufacturers producing them, often anonymously. Below is an excerpt from the 1927 B&T catalog:

"Model E - 9 x 12: Wooden body, matte black interior, covered in Kranicol, extra-hard solid metal drop bed. Friction focusing carriage, leather handle.

Available in two versions:

1. With variable focus by extension, equipped with a graduated scale.

2. With adjustable focus by Archimedean lever, hooking at infinity and metric distances, large clear reversing viewfinder, spring closure, two nuts, ground glass with a cap, shutter (manufactured by Gitzo) enabling short exposures in one time, indefinite exposure in two times, and instantaneous at variable speeds of 1/25, 1/50, 1/100."

The presented model is the one with the Archimedean lever.
